Professor Squozz is running weekly adventures for 0-3 year olds!

On a Wednesday at 10:30 am and 11:45 am you can find us at Wemyss Bay Community Centre.

Recent Squozz

Professor Squozz had so much fun with everyone who came along to see us at the Wemyss Bay Gala Day on Saturday 16th May!

Our smallest adventurers helped wake the sleeping monster who was snoring so loudly no one else could get any sleep!

Then storytime told tales of adventure from some classic children's books.

And finally we all sat together and created a brand new story of our very own, rescuing the lost dragon egg from the wizard!

So how does a Professor Squozz session work?

Storytelling

We love fantasy worlds and each baby class and toddler class will take you and your tot on a journey to solve a problem or mystery. Each session, Professor Squozz will be asked by one of his friends to help, and Professor Squozz will call on his Adventure Tots to find clues and talk to characters throughout the world.

Music

Storytelling

Each baby class and toddler class will utilise original music and lighting to help tell the story and immerse you and your tot into the world.

Interaction and play

Time for you and your Adventure Tot

During baby class and toddler class Professor Squozz will give each of you an Adventure Tots backpack. Inside this backpack will be the tools and toys you will need throughout the quest! Lights, sound and tactile toys will add to the fun and immersion in the story, as well as providing you and your tot with the opportunity for some fun together!

Time for you and your Adventure Tot

We want you to go on this adventure together with your tot. We don't care if you know the words. We don't have any moves or actions you need to copy. We won't walk around and check on you! This is your time, we just want to provide a fun and engaging environment whilst taking you on our storytelling journey.

Frequently asked questions

A man? Running a baby/toddler group? What gives?

Although not completely unprecedented, we get that it's a little unusual. Richard (Professor Squozz's assistant) is fully up to date on child emergency first aid, safeguarding and criminal checks. Equipment used within sessions is safe for children to use, or warnings will be given in advance that it is only to be handled by parents.

What is a session like?

Professor Squozz is designed to take you and your tot on an adventure. Every session will focus on a different letter of the alphabet and Professor Squozz will call on the Adventure Tots to help him solve a mystery. Through storytelling the Tots will then go on a journey to solve the problem, travelling to meet new friends, follow clues and solve problems on the way.

Will I have to sing?

During a baby classes and toddler classes held at a variety of locations in Inverclyde there will be original music played, inspired by magical fantasy worlds and a hint of the 1980's! You and your tot will use tools and items from the Adventure Tots Backpack along the way, providing interaction between you and your little one and helping them feel like a part of the story.

Will I have to sing?

Short answer, no. It's not that sort of class. It is all original music and so singing along is not necessary. However, we would fully encourage sillyness! Make sounds, sound effects and talk actively with your little one to enhance their experience of the world and take an adventurous journey with you!

What kind of music is it?

Will Professor Squozz do private parties?

We love traditional kids music too (who doesn't love a bit of Grand Old Duke of York?) but we decided that we wanted to try something a bit different and so all the music used is original to Professor Squozz. The Professor particularly loves the 80's rock and so songs may lean in that direction, but he also messes with funk, acoustic and everything in between. Songs are created to be atmospheric and supportive of the story being told. Most importantly we want it to be both fun for your tots and also enjoyable for you whilst playing with them.

Will Professor Squozz do private parties?

Yes, he certainly will! A personalised story will be created for your little one where they and their friends will be taken on a journey to solve a mystery. This story can lead to the recovery of a special present you want to give them and we will talk to you regarding their likes, names of their friends and more to make the story as personal to them as possible.
